Wanderings prioritizes user privacy by abstaining from retaining copies of location data on its servers. Instead, location information is solely kept on iCloud, requiring user authentication for access, and temporarily stored in the user's local browser cache for visualization.

The iPhone's location tracking feature is optimized to consume minimal battery power, impacting daily usage by only a few percentage points.
